Plastic Surgery Statistics

Plastic surgery seems to be increasingly common amongst the high income group of people and even some less wealthy middle class individuals. The ISAPS or International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has conducted the first reliable survey revealing fascinating new plastic surgery statistics. One can note the marked shift in attitude to plastic surgeries as the number performed in the year 2009 was an astounding 8,536,379. However, as opposed to previous trends, non-surgical procedures such as neuromodulator injections like Botox and Dysport and laser hair removal have become more popular than liposuction or breast augmentation. Non-surgical techniques are possible owing to the development of new scientific techniques and technology. These are also more cost-effective for patients.
